source: The Australian China's economic growth has stalled in the third quarter but remains healthy, supposedly evidence that the Chinese economy will not tumble. Gross domestic product (GDP) rose 9.1 percent since last year, down from 9.5 percent in the second quarter and 9.7 percent in the first. The results come as global markets watch closely to see whether China can rein in its fast-paced economy without seriously curtailing growth. Beijing has put increasing focus on fighting persistent inflation worries, causing concern that the world's reliable growth engine could be slowing down. |
