Erdene Resource Development Corp. (ERD) reported stock gains after announcing that its board would review the capital structure of the company to explore and evaluate potential alternatives to maximize shareholder value.

The diversified resource company said its options include a spinoff of the Mongolian assets, sale of subsidiaries, strategic investments, project financing, and other corporate and financial transactions. The company's stock climbed 28 percent in morning trade after the announcement.
