China's copper mine faces production curbs on pollution grounds PDF Print E-mail

The Chinese Government has ordered Zijin Mining Group to restrict production after discharges from its copper mine polluted a river and reservoir in Fujian province. It was not clear whether the production curbs will be limited to its copper mining activities or will also apply to its gold mining business.

Zijin Ming had planned to expand its annual copper mining capacity to 200,000 tons from 13,000 tons.
