According to Mr. James Schaeffer, CEO of Mongolia Energy Corp., the company aims to produce between 2 million and 2.5 million tons of raw coal in 2011 after a colliery started operation in western Mongolia in October. Mr Schaeffer has said that next January, the firm's monthly coal output capacity is expected to reach 50,000 tons to 100,000 tons. In the period from 2013 to 2014, the Hong Kong-listed firm hopes to have an annual capacity between 6 million and 7 million tons. He added that the company would benefit from coal sales in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, thanks to the Chinese government's Western Development Policy.
