Any Chinalco role in Oyu Tolgoi would need Government approval: Batbold PDF Print E-mail

Prime Minister S. Batbold told media in Canberra that if Chinese state-owned Chinalco wanted to take a stake in the Oyu Tolgoi project, its role would have to be approved by the Mongolian government. Mr. Batbold said Chinese investment in Mongolia had been welcome, but he said any change to the Oyu Tolgoi partnership agreement between Mongolia, Rio Tinto and Ivanhoe Mines would have to go through government approval procedures.
