Economic Freedom Advisory Council
Purpose
The Council aims to strengthen Mongolia’s business environment by advancing policies that enhance economic freedom, investor confidence, and private-sector–led growth through research, dialogue, and advocacy.
Key Focus Areas
The Council works through specialized sub-councils and thematic discussions, including:
- Taxation and regulatory environment
Investor-friendly and transparent tax policy, regulatory efficiency, and investor protection. - Energy transition
Energy sector liberalization, policy modernization, tariff reform, and enabling private-sector participation. - Economic diversification and competitiveness
Policies that support innovation, productivity, sustainable development, and investment diversification.
What the Council Does
- Identifies key policy and regulatory challenges affecting the business environment
- Develops evidence-based policy recommendations and position papers
- Facilitates structured dialogue between the private sector and policymakers
- Supports BCM’s advocacy on economic reform and competitiveness
